Smt. Mathubai Garware Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Sangli offers undergraduate courses in two stream:- Arts and Commerce, Professional Course – B.B.A. B.C.A. and Post Graduate courses in three Arts subject- English, Hindi and Economics. The goal of mission of the institution is ‘Empowerment of women’: Kanya Sukany Kartavya. The working procedure of the college is practiced in such a way that a student after completing the course is prepared to acquire the thorough knowledge of the subject studied, proper communication skills, decision making ability, employability skills, sense of duty and responsibility, social awareness etc.

Arts Faculty:-

The Bachelor of Arts requires three years and six semesters of full time study. The college has offered seven subjects under Arts faculty:- Marathi, Hindi, English, Economics, Psychology, Geography, Home Science. These courses aim to prepare students to equip with a sound knowledge of concerned subjects and to apply them in their daily life.

Arts Outcomes:-

  1. To recognize themselves as an individual, to use their creative and strong sides.
  2. To use the language learning strategies effectively
  3. To understand, interpret and evaluate different texts that may encounter in their daily life.
  4. To communicate effectively and efficiently in their surroundings.
  5. To know, to comprehend to analyze, to appreciate and to understand the structure and mechanism of human language.
  6. To develop their English language skills continuously
  7. To provide activities to enable students to improve their listening skills. reading, writing and speaking skills.
  8. To cope with problematic situations.
  9. To foster intellectual curiosity critical thinking and logical reasoning.
  10. To recognize ways in which social, economical issues affect our daily life.
  11. To understand historical developments in different periods of Indian History.
  12. To make the students familiar with socio-economic role of institutions such as family, market, govt. etc.
  13. To measure, to analyze various personalities attributes and abilities etc.
  14. To find remedy regarding maladaptive behavior, psycho-social issues.
  15. To aware students about life skills.
  16. To enable the students for innovative and entrepreneurship that prepare the learners for life.
  17. To enable students to develop small scale industries in food, ready garment etc.
  18. To provide students the programmes to upgrade their life style with all scientific knowledge about day to day life.

Commerce Programme Outcome:-

The Commerce Programme includes B.Com and M.Com Courses. The B.Com programme is for three years and M.Com programme is for two years.

The B.Com course comprises of subjects like Marketing Entrepreneurship Management, Money and Financial System, Statistics, Economics, Business Communication and Accounting. The newly designed B.Com is under the CBCS pattern and syllabus is so framed to develop practical knowledge of students and develop accounting entrepreneurial and management skills in the students.

The Institution offers specialization in three different subjects they are “Advanced Accountancy” and “Banking” and “Taxation”.

Specialization in Advanced Accountancy develops accounting skills and Tally Software knowledge.

Specialization in Banking develops Banking knowledge, basic concepts, functions scales and regulation.

College offers a distinctive course of specialization in taxation and B.Com course in taxation which is only one in the entire Shivaji University. The syllabus for the said course is framed by the faculty. The syllabus contents latest updated in GST, Income Tax and Customs. The said course is started with a view to develop employability and self employment ability in the students.

M.Com is post graduate course for two years and offers specialization in Advanced Accounting. The course is designed under CBCS pattern and contents subjects such as Business Administration, Managerial Economics, Business Finance, Management Accounting and Advanced Accountancy. The newly designed course offers. Practical knowledge, Case study method and project in Research Methodology. This develops Accounting, logical, analyzing skills in the students. Project Report develops research aptitude in the students and motivates them to pursue further education in research.

BBA BCA Department Internal Evaluation and outcomes

Internal Evaluation

Internal evaluation of BBA, BCA is carried out throughout the year through Home Assignments, mid test, Seminars and Field Work. Practical Examination, Project Viva-Voce Examination will be conducted by the external examiner panel appointed by university.

Outcomes of BCA

  1. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, computer science and management in practice.
  2. An ability to enhance not only comprehensive understanding of the theory but its application too in diverse field.
  3. The program prepares the young professional for a range of computer applications, computer organization, techniques of computer networking, software engineering-Commerce, Web Designing, Big Data, IOT, Python and Advance JAVA.
  4. An ability to design a computing system to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as safety, security and applicability in multidisciplinary teams with positive attitude.
  5. An ability to communicate effectively in order to enhance programming skills the program has introduced the concept of project development in each language/technology learnt during semester.

Outcomes of BBA

  1. Identify the different functional aspects of business world and recognize different opportunities of business.
  2. Acquire the different skills necessary for the professional attitudes.
  3. Demonstrate a global outlook with the ability to identify aspects of the global business and cross cultural understanding.
  4. Identify the problems and challenges and inculcate the capability to cope with the spontaneous changes.
  5. Analyze the importance of innovation and research, tackle the contemporary needs and accordingly grab the opportunities.
  6. Develop effective and oral communication especially in business applications, with the use of appropriate technology.
